Ayala Polo Club Gold Cup Begins: 22 Teams at the Summit

From August 17 to 29, dynamism and elegance converge during the third stage of the 55th ATL International Polo Tournament. Featuring vibrant matches at both the Ayala Polo Club and its Los Pinos venue, the event brings together international society across 22 teams divided into High Goal (20-22 goals), Medium Goal (12-14 goals), and Low Goal (6-8 goals). An essential event that defines summer in Sotogrande.

Action on the Field

The opening matchday delivered thrilling encounters defined by precision and exceptional talent:

  • High Goal: High tension dominated field 4 at Los Pinos. La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal (featuring Luis Aznar and Adolfo Cambiaso) secured a hard-fought 14-13 victory against Ayala, relying on a solid early-game lead. Meanwhile, Dubai—recent runners-up of the Terralpa Silver Cup—leveraged their penalty execution to edge out Dos Lunas IQ 12-11.

  • Upcoming High Goal Clashes: This Wednesday all eyes turn to the showdown between Dubai and La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal, while Ayala seeks redemption against Dos Lunas IQ. In Zone 2, standout fixtures include Essso vs. Sainte Mesme and Amanara vs. Brunei.

  • Medium and Low Goal: In Medium Goal, Royal Salute KPC debuted with a 12-9 win over ATL, and John Smith (Bronze Cup champions) defeated Jolly Roger 8-11. In Low Goal, Vamos Korea and Great Oaks both started strong with decisive victories.
